He is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the organization’s programmatic and administrative tasks. Prior to Greening America, Carl worked for the American Institute of Architects as the director of its Center for the Environment.

He previously served as Executive Director to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the National BioEnergy Industries Association (NBIA). He leads The Stella Group, Ltd, and serves on the boards of numerous energy-focused nonprofits and industry groups, as well as being an Adjunct Professor on energy at The George Washington University.

Mark Ginsberg founded Ginsberg Green Strategies, LLC, in January 2012, to consult on Eco-Cities, energy efficiency and renewable energy. He also serves as a Senior Fellow for the U. S. Green Building Council. Previously, he served as a senior executive at the U.S. Department of Energy for 20 years and the Arizona Energy Office for 10 years.
